Life Happened

You’re young, a child of 4m 5 or 6, you have no idea what your life will be like. Your life is your parents, your family, your friend, your school — your immediate surroundings.

You feel and know what they know and feel. You rebel in the way they do and will allow. You grow consciously based on what you are exposed to. (Dear Dr Huberman — am I right?@hubermanlab)

Then, you’re asked to grow up, be an adult and stop being a child.

What if you needed to be a child longer than the imposed 18 or 21 years of age in western society? (Acknowledgement- in many country children are forced into labor at a much younger age)

Suddenly, you get trained or educated to get a job. You get some kind of job, You start flirting, dating beyond the fumbling's of teenage years in the hope of finding a life partner. At 18 or 21. You start your official journey then (forget that it may have started a lot earlier in reality).

Ah! you meet the one!! Yes the ONE. Your date, marry, buy a house, get a mortgage, juggle work, children, sex, family, groceries, meals, laundry, holidays, further education (get ahead on that ladder!). Deal with bullying, gaslighting, financial pressure, poor health. Resentment, regret, loss, pressure, stress. Then you get divorced, someone dies. A chapter finishes.

What if you had not grown up?

Who know, who cares. Life happened.

Does life have to happen like this?

I am a Cassandra, never to be heard, but perhaps to be read.
